Product Details
In the electrical department there are a myriad of electrical components which must work together for any car to run. Two of the most important parts are the positive and negative battery cables. Through the decades, automotive manufacturers have tried various methods to attach cables to the battery. In the 1960's General Motors designed a new terminal called a "spring ring" to grip the battery post by spring tension rather than using a conventional bolt and nut to tighten the lead connector. Restoring your Corvette to original condition after all these years almost certainly will involve replacing the spring ring battery cables. No longer available from GM dealers or regular auto parts stores, Eckler's offers the very best in reproduction spring ring battery cables. Reproduced from the original GM blueprints, these spring ring battery cables are manufactured as originally designed and meet or exceed the original manufacturer's specifications. A quality spring steel insert is die-cast molded directly within the lead terminal to maintain a solid electrical bond between the battery and the cable. Using the heaviest gauge original equipment cable option available for the model year, these reproduction spring ring battery cables have the correct gauge strands and PVC insulation with the correct color molded ends. They provide the correct appearance and current carrying capability required for your Corvette restoration.
