 Your 1957 & 1966-1980 Corvette came with specific cast iron exhaust manifolds.  They flowed reasonably well and are very durable.  Over time, flange and gasket surfaces can warp causing exhaust leaks and engine misfires.  If your timing is retarded (too low), you can overheat your manifolds which can warp or even crack them.  And, certain climates can cause them to rust.

NOTE:  Use anti-seize compound on all exhaust manifold bolts and studs prior to installation.  If you want to use these manifolds on Corvettes without A.I.R. emissions, you will need to have the A.I.R. ports welded.  Brass or steel plugs will likely loosen causing troublesome and frequent exhaust leaks.
