Because Of GM's original poor design, the stock shifter boot would pull out and from under the plate, thus allowing hot air to enter the interior. This new improved shifter boot is larger around the lower lip, This extra material stays secure under the plate, sealing the road heat from entering. A must for all C1 owners.
