C7 Corvette

The new C7 Corvette Stingray has arrived!

The C7 Corvette was introduced in the Fall of 2013, as a 2014 model. It’s the seventh generation Corvette and the first to bear the Corvette Stingray name since the 1976 third generation model. Body styles include both Coupe and Convertible.

The C7 Corvette’s LT1 engine brings several technologies new to the engine line, such as direct injection, Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation) and continuously variable valve timing. Transmission choices include a 7-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Trim and Performance Packages include the base 1LT, 1LT with the Z51 Performance Package, 2LT, 2LT with the Z51 Performance Package, and the 3LT, 3LT with the Z51 Performance Package.

The new C7 comes with a carbon fiber hood and removable roof panel. Its fenders, doors and rear quarter panels remain composite. The underbody panels are made of "carbon-nano" composite which make use of a new hydro-formed aluminum frame. This new frame locates the four wheels one inch farther apart, front to rear and side to side, than the previous Corvette models.

C7 Corvette Specs
Power:
  • The new Stingray’s LT1 6.2L V8 engine is factory rated at 460 horsepower, generating an asphalt-melting 465 lbs-ft of torque.
  • 0-60: 3.8 seconds
  • Top speed: 186 mph
  • Quarter mile: 12.0 seconds @ 119 mph

Handling:
  • The ’Vette’s high performance suspension system, lighter overall weight, and more rigid frame are all responsible for the car’s staggering 1.03g numbers on the skidpad.

Braking:
  • The C7’s brakes (12.6” slotted rotors front, 13.3” slotted rotors rear, standard) produce 60-0 mph stop times of 107 feet. The Z51 Performance Package upgrades the front rotors to 13.6".
